Incorrect hosting configuration settings is one of the main cause of the error. So, we can fix this by stop hosting multi-user access on workstations other than the server computer:
Open QuickBooks Desktop.
Go to the File menu and select Utilities.
If the Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option is visible, select it.
If the Host Multi-User Access option is visible, don’t click it. There is nothing wrong with this workstation. Go to the next one.
Repeat the same steps on all workstations getting QuickBooks error H505.
Now, move to your server computer and open QuickBooks.
Select the File menu and choose Utilities.
If you find the Host Multi-User Access is an option, select it.
Don’t select the Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option.
